Tam Dao Tours is about 80 km from Hanoi, including 50 km along National Highway 2 and about 24 km along National Highway 2B, with 13 km of winding mountain roads. The Tam Dao tourist area was discovered and built by the French in the early 19th century. By 1940, Tam Dao had become a "mountain city" with more than 100 grand buildings and luxurious villas; among them, 60 villas showcased various architectural styles. Unfortunately, these villas were destroyed due to war, and only the stone church remains today.
Visitors traveling to Tam Dao can move by car or motorbike from Hanoi via Thang Long - Noi Bai road, turning towards Phuc Yen - Vinh Yen.
Alternatively, you can book tickets for Limousine services that run on the Hanoi - Tam Dao route. The journey takes about 2 hours.
Ι Tam Dao town is relatively small. While traveling, you can explore the area on foot as most of the famous tourist attractions are within the town.
Central Square: This is the main entertainment spot in Tam Dao, located at the center of Zone 1 in Tam Dao town. The area is beautifully designed with a spacious square, stepped seating, and many stunning structures for photography.
Tam Dao Church: This is the most famous attraction in Tam Dao. Every visitor to Tam Dao stops by here. It is one of the few remaining historical architectural structures after wartime destruction. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the mystical, dreamy Tam Dao and capture beautiful photos.
Tam Dao Market: A small market located on a short slope near the central square, mainly selling food such as grilled dishes, various cakes, fresh produce, and Tam Dao specialties. The eateries in the market operate from morning until night, offering warm, freshly grilled food at any time.
Silver Waterfall (Thác Bạc): Located right in the center of Tam Dao town, this is a tall waterfall originating from within the rocky mountains, flowing through lush greenery, cascading down in cool white streams.
Heaven's Gate (Cổng trời Tam Đảo): Located near the stone church, offering a picturesque view of Tam Dao town shrouded in mist.
